Welcome From the Chair...
Welcome to the Southeastern Chapter of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events. I am very humbled to be included in the long line of industry professionals who have served in this position before me. Thank you to Daniel McKinnon, our past Chair, for his efforts in helping to grow our chapter into such a strong and well respected one.
When I started in the industry back in the early 90’s, IAEE was my first experience with an industry association. Looking back, the IAEE Community has always been my “go to” resource for industry education, information and networking. The knowledge gained and relationships formed have truly been invaluable to both my professional and personal growth.
Our individual responsibilities and the region we represent (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) are vast and varied. However, in the end, we all focus on the same thing – the unique value of exhibitions and other face to face events that bring buyers and sellers together. For this reason, I designated 2013 as A Year of Community.
We look forward to seeing you in the upcoming year. Make plans now to join us for one of our many educational luncheons, the Annual Jenny Melton Golf Tournament or the Southeastern Classic/CEM Course.

The Jenny Melton Foundation was established in memory of Butch Melton's (with Freeman) daughter. Jenny, a West Hall High School athlete and Honor student who was killed March 19, 2002 in a single car accident on her way to school. The Jenny Melton Foundation has joined the Partners in Education Program attempting to encourage local business to get involved in additional education funding for the students in Hall County.
